Personalized Surgical Care for Your Pet

The safety and well-being of your pet comes first at Wags Animal Hospital. While some facilities schedule 7 to 10 procedures per day, we focus on personalized care by scheduling only two to three surgeries per day. With this approach, we can give your pet the full attention they deserve, before, during and after surgery. For us, it’s not the quantity but rather the quality that counts.

Preparing for Surgery with Care and Understanding

We believe in educating pet owners. Our veterinarians make sure that you fully understand your animal’s condition and the steps involved in their procedure. We don’t rush consultations. Instead, we take the time to answer all of your questions so you know what to expect during surgery and the recovery period. At Wags, we use state-of-the-art diagnostic tools to provide accurate assessments before any procedure. These include in-house blood work and, if needed, X-rays of the chest and abdomen. Understanding how our patients are functioning internally is a major step in reducing the potential risk from surgery. We believe that thorough consultations and communication enable you to make informed decisions to give your pet the best care possible.

Each surgical patient gets a dedicated team of three professionals to be with them throughout their entire visit. During the actual procedure, each patient’s anesthesia is monitored using fourteen different parameters! Anesthesia is then adjusted according to the patient’s needs. We do NOT believe in a set-it-and-forget-it approach. We stay in tune with your fur baby throughout their entire visit. After the procedure, our dedicated team continuously monitors the vitals of your pet and provides them with the gentle care they need to feel most comfortable. Each surgical patient also goes home with a typed surgical discharge instruction handout,  discussing everything you need to know in the days to weeks after the procedure. Our team then follows up with you the day after the procedure to ensure that recovery is progressing as expected or, if needed, allow for early intervention as soon as possible.

Note: If your dog or cat needs the care of a specialist, we will help you find a facility that will be able to provide support. We will also ensure that the Speciality Center has all of the information they need about your fur baby so there is a smooth transition of care.

Compassion in Every Procedure

Every time we care for your pet, whether during a surgical or a routine visit, our veterinarians bring a deep passion for their well-being, treating each one as our own. With years of experience in performing soft-tissue and dental surgeries, we provide skill, precision and high-quality care in every procedure. All four veterinarians at Wags Animal Hospital are certified Doctors of Veterinary Medicine, bringing expertise and compassion to every aspect of care. Our veterinary assistants are also professionally trained, providing caring, hands-on support to both you and your pet throughout the process.

“We never clock out. What clients don’t know is that their pet is on our minds when we go home and when we wake up in the morning. When clients email us late at night, we call because we know they’re worried. As their pet gets better, we celebrate as a team. It’s a physical and emotional joy for all of us.” – Dr. Ori, Veterinarian, Wags Animal Hospital
